(Interfax/redOrbit) - Canadian-American company Tethys Petroleum Ltd has received license to work in 56 areas in Tajikistan that are believed to possibly contain natural gas and to develop five of them that are confirmed gas fields.
In energy-rich Central Asia, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan have long found themselves the odd men out. They possess little if any of the massive natural resources that are making Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan rich. But tiny Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan do have one thing the others don’t: water.
