Temirbank repaid $130 ml loan to Standard Bank

Temirbank, the 7th largest Kazakh bank, has repaid Standard Bank loan of $130 million, Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) reported.

“On June 23, 200 the bank paid off the loan borrowed from Standard Bank Plc to the total of 130 ml US dollars plus an accrued interest of 4.634 ml US dollars,” KASE said in a statement.

Kazakhstan’s second-largest bank, BTA, has a controlling stake in the retail-focused Temirbank. BTA has announced that it plans to sell the bank to a strategic buyer this year.

National Bank boost capital of Deposit Insurance Fund

The National Bank contributed 14 billion tenge ($120 million) to increase the registered capital of Deposit Insurance Fund, Interfax-Kazakhstan reported.

KazMunaiGas floats five- and ten-year notes

Kazakhstan national oil and gas company KazMunaiGas floated five- and ten-year notes on Wednesday worth $3 billion, Interfax-Kazakhstan reported citing Bloomberg.

The company offered five-year securities with the coupon rate at an annual rate of 8.375% valued at $1.4 billion and ten-year notes at 9.125% worth $1.6 billion. The spreads above the U.S. Treasure securities are 4.02 percent and 5.15 percent.

The notes have Baa1 rating from Moody’s and BBB from Standard & Poor’s.

Lead managers of the issue were ABN Amro Holding NV, Citigroup Inc. and Credit Suisse Group.
