(SRI) - KazMunaiGas, the national oil company signed a contract with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to explore and develop the Myortvy Kultuk block in the Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea, Interfax reported on Friday.
The license area of the block is 7273 square kilometers. Water in the exploration block area is 1-2.5 m deep. The recoverable oil resources are estimated at 164 million tons.
At the first stage, the company will conduct geophysical and geological surveys and drill two exploration wells.
