Kazakhtelecom increases profit by 8.2 percent in H1

(SRI) - Kazakhtelecom net profit in the first half of 2008 was KZT 17.6 billion (USD 147 million), an 8.2 percent increase from the same period last year, Interfax reported.

NBK cut minimum reserve requirements to second-tier banks

(SRI) - The National Bank of Kazakhstan (NBK) has cut its minimum reserve requirements for the second-tier banks, Interfax reported on Tuesday. The old requirements of 6% on internal obligation and 8% on all other obligations are now lowered to 5% and 7%, respectively.
