(UPI) - While making predictions, especially about energy issues, is a murky business at best, the general outline of the themes surrounding the ongoing development of Caspian energy assets is already broadly emerging.
(KazTAG) - Gas production in Kazakhstan in 2008 grew by 12 percent compared to the previous year to 33.2 billion cubic meters (bcm), according to the government’s information published in the official newspapers on Friday.
“Main growth came from KPO B.V., Tengizchevroil, CNPC-Aktobemunaigas and Tolkynneftegas.”
Gas exports increased by 27.6 percent to 5.7 bcm.
Oil and gas refining facilities produced 1.4 million tons of LPG, up 0.7 percent from 2007.
Natural gas consumption increased by 2.7 percent to 8.9 bcm.
(SRI) - The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) extended a credit line of USD10 million to Bank CenterCredit (BCC), a Kazakh commercial bank, to finance energy projects in Kazakhstan, BCC said in a press release.
(KazTAG) - The government will report on anti-crisis program in the parliament, Majilis chairman Ural Mukhamedzhanov said.
“In January, the parliament will listen to the government’s report on the program of stabilization of the economic situation in Kazakhstan”, he told the Majilis on Thursday.
At the same time, it is necessary to increase efficiency of legislation improving legislative process, he said.
