Kazakhstan says raised gas transit fee by 21 percent
(Reuters) - Kazakhstan has raised the fee for the transit of Uzbek and Turkmen gas to Russia by 21 percent from the beginning of 2009.

Kazakh energy minister urges oil sector tax cut
(Reuters) - Kazakh Energy Minister Sauat Mynbayev urged the government on Wednesday to cut the recently introduced mineral extraction tax on the oil industry due to depressed global oil prices.
