(bne) - The president of Kazatomprom and several top managers face criminal charges, and Canadian miner Uranium One saw its share price plunge nearly 40% on May 27 when Kazakhstan’s state nuclear firm became embroiled in a financial scandal.

Alliance unveils restructuring terms
(SRI) - Alliance Bank, which had defaulted on its debt in April, unveiled the terms to restructure its foreign obligations in a conference call on Friday. The plan offers the bank’s creditors three options to recoup some or all of their investment depending on the time frame.

BTA to announce restructuring plan this week - Saidenov
(SRI) - Kazakhstan’s BTA Bank plans to unveil its restructuring plan this week, the bank’s CEO Anvar Saidenov told journalists on Friday, following in the footsteps of Alliance Bank, another Kazakh lender seeking relief from its international creditors.

KMG EP names new CEO
(SRI) - KazMunaiGas Exploration Production (KMG EP), the LSE-listed subsidiary of Kazakhstan’s national oil company KazMunaiGas, said Kenzhebek Ibrashev, formerly a vice president of the state oil concern, will take over as the company’s new CEO.

(Bloomberg) - From his secret hideaway, BTA Bank’s former Chairman Mukhtar Ablyazov says Kazakhstan’s government caused the default of the nation’s largest lender. Kazakh prosecutors want him for allegedly embezzling the bank’s money.

BTA to shed light on Temirbank restructuring this week
(SRI) - Kazakhstan’s BTA Bank will decide this week whether to restructure the $800 million foreign debt of its retail subsidiary Temirbank, BTA’s CEOAnvar Saidenov said on Friday.
