(SRI) - BTA Bank plans to restructure its $3.7 billion trade finance debt along with other liabilities as part of its restructuring, reversing its earlier position.

M&A: Russian pharma distributor Katren acquires majority stake in Kazakh Emiti International
(SRI) - Katren, Russia’s third largest pharmaceutical distributor, has acquired a 51-percent stake in Emiti International, one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in Kazakhstan. The value of the deal is estimated at $50 million.

Kazakh economy to shrink 2 to 2.5 percent - minister
(SRI) - Kazakhstan’s economy will shrink by 2.0 to 2.5 percent in the first half of 2009, Bakhyt Sultanov, Minister of Economy and Budget Planning said on Monday, reverting from more optimistic forecasts by Prime Minister Karim Masimov earlier this month.

(SRI) - Kazakhstans Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) announced a tender for two copper mining licenses in the Karaganda region, Interfax reported.

(SRI) - Katren, Russia’s third largest pharmaceutical distributor, has acquired a 51-percent stake in Emiti International, one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in Kazakhstan. The value of the deal has not Been disclosed but Russian analysts have estimated its price tag at $50 million.
