Frontier starts production at Naimanjal mine

(SRI) – Kazakhstan-based gold and copper producer Frontier Mining has started gold production at its Naimanjal complex in Kazakhstan after its pilot production license has been extended, the company said on Tuesday.

As operations increase in the coming weeks, Naimanjal is expected to produce 6,000 ounces of gold and 60,000 ounces of silver in 2009. Frontier expects to receive commercial production approvals in the third quarter 2009 of and forecasts commercial production of 15,000 ounces gold and 150,000 ounces silver in 2010.
