Kazakhstan projected to produce 1.49 million bpd in 2009 - OPEC

(SRI) - Kazakhstan’s crude oil production is projected to increase by 80,000 barrels per day compared to the previous year to average 1.49 million (bpd) in 2009, the OPEC said in its Monthly Oil Market Report.

Kazakhstan’s expected growth in 2009 remains the highest among all CIS producers. According to OPEC, the relatively significant growth is a result of the completion of capacity expansion at the Tengiz field.

On a quarterly basis, Kazakhstan’s output is anticipated to stand at 1.48 million bpd, 1.51 million bpd, 1.40 million bpd and 1.58 million bpd, respectively.
