Kazakh leader signs law curbing Internet: activists
(Reuters) - Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has signed into law new controls on the Internet that the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) has called repressive, local activists said Monday.

(SRI) - Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has signed into law amendments to the country’s intellectual property legislation.
Kazakhinstrakh to issue additional shares on KASE
(SRI) - Kazakhinstrakh, an insurance subsidiary of Halyk Bank, plans to raise approximately KZT1 billion ($6.7 million) on KASE by issuing 28,571 common shares, KASE reported.

(AFP) - The eastern lobe of the disaster-struck Aral Sea seems to have shrunk by four-fifths in just three years, the European Space Agency (ESA) said on Friday.

Chinese police break up Xinjiang protest
(Reuters) - Chinese riot police broke up a small demonstration by Uighurs leaving Friday prayers in a Muslim Uighur neighborhood of Urumqi, arresting several who were taken away with hands above their heads.
