Nazarbayev signs IP law amendments

(SRI) - Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has signed into law amendments to the country’s intellectual property legislation.

The amendments are reportedly aimed to bring the legislation in line with the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works and streamline the existing law.

The amendments also address agreements Kazakhstan signed in 2004 with the World Intellectual Property Organization on copyright and the use of soundtracks.
