BTA loses $13.4 billion in Jan-Sep
(SRI) - BTA Bank, until recently Kazakhstan’s biggest bank, lost KZT2 trillion ($13.4 billion) in January through September, the bank reported on Thursday.

Alliance loses $1.5 billion in Jan-Sep
(SRI) - Alliance Bank lost KZT224 billion ($1.5 billion) in the first nine months of 2009, the lender reported on Thursday. In the same period last year, Alliance recorded a loss of KZT988 million ($7 million).

Domestic creditors reject Astana Finance’s debt restructuring plan
(SRI) - Domestic creditors of Astana Finance rejected the proposed debt restructuring plan citing concerns over a lack of transparency and saying it violated a principle of equality among domestic and foreign creditors.

Eni and KazMunaiGas close to deal
(Financial Times) - Italy’s Eni group and Kazakhstan’s London-listed KazMunaiGas last night signed a preliminary agreement that could result in up to $50bn of investments in the central Asian state’s upstream and downstream oil and gas sectors.

(SRI) - Domestic creditors of Astana Finance rejected the proposed debt restructuring plan citing concerns over a lack of transparency and saying it violated a principle of equality among domestic and foreign creditors, according to a statement published on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE).
