Astana finance seeks extension of restructuring deadline; signs agreement with export credit agencies
(SRI) - Astana Finance has requested an extension of a deadline to submit its final debt restructuring plan to the Kazakh Financial Supervision Agency (FSA) until March 2010, the lender’s chairman Kintal Islamov said on Thursday.

Bank CenterCredit net income down 11 percent in Jan-Sep
(SRI) - Bank CenterCredit (BCC), Kazakhstan’s sixth largest bank, reported a net income of KZT5.46 billion ($36.4 million) in the first nine months of 2009, down 11 percent compared to the same time period in 2008, according to its preliminary financial statements.

Energy Ministry has no information on Mitall’s decision to leave Kazakh oil project
(SRI) - Steel tycoon Lakshmi Mittal has not yet notified Kazakh authorities of his intention to pull out of his oil exploration projects in the Caspian Sea, Kazakh Energy Minister Sauat Mynbayev said on Thursday.
