(SRI) - Kazakhstan’s industrial output rose 0.7 percent year-on-year in the first eleven months of 2009, showing growth for the first time this year, the State Statistics Agency said on Monday.
“The 11-month production edged up 0.7 percent, output was up 5.7 percent in the mining and extractive industries and down 6.3 percent in processing and manufacturing,” head of the statistics agency Alikhan Smailov told the government in Astana on Monday in Astana. The agricultural sector recorded a 10.6-percent growth.
In 2008, the industrial output had grown by 2.1 percent. In January-October, it shrank 0.2 percent year-on-year.
