MangistauMunaiGas income falls 43 percent in first nine months of 2009

(SRI) - MangistauMunaiGas (MMG), a Kazakh oil and gas company controlled by the state-owned KazMunaiGas, recorded a net income of KZT64.9 billion ($432 million) in the first nine months of 2009, a 43-percent decline compared to the same period last year.

Pavlodar refinery key to revival of Kazakhstan’s downstream industry

(SRI) - KazMunaiGas (KMG) is still in talks with Central Asia Petroleum, an Indonesian company which controls the Pavlodar oil refinery, trying to close the deal that would give the national oil company control over the downstream assets in Kazakhstan.

China’s share in Kazakh oil production rises to 22 percent - newspaper

(SRI) - CNPC’s recent purchase of a 50-percent stake in MangistauMunaiGas will increase its total share of oil production in Kazakhstan to 22 percent, a local financial newspaper reported citing government data.

Russian oil companies in play for a stake in Pavlodar refinery

(SRI) - KazMunaiGas, Kazakhstan’s national oil company, may sell a stake in the Pavlodar oil refinery to Russia’s Gazprom Neft or TNK-BP, Reuters reported on Monday citing a source close to the talks.

PetroChina may pay $1.4 billion for Kazakh oil stake

(Bloomberg) - PetroChina Co., Asia’s biggest crude producer, plans to pay as much as $1.4 billion for a stake in an oil company in Kazakhstan to take advantage of lower commodity prices and expand overseas, Chairman Jiang Jiemin said.

China and Kazakhstan ink USD10 billion deal

(SRI) - China will lend Kazakhstan USD10 billion in return for a minority stake in MangistauMunaiGas, according to agreements signed on Thursday by President Nursultan Nazarbayev and his Chinese counterpart Hu Jintao.
